    Greetings,

I just learned someone has a 1906 morgan and explaining condition to me stated there are full feathers on breast and overall looks in good condition. They asked me what it could be worth with having an extra eye stamped almost next to other eye. We know pictures are worth a thousand words, but can only tell you what I was told. I would like to know if this has ever been heard of before? and if so, range of price again hard to determine without viewing coin.
    Thanks ,

There were no Morgans minted in 1906. The coin can't be real.

    Thank you,

There were no US silver dollars minted at all from 1905 - 1920. No US dollar has had a sheild on it since 1873.

Could you possibly be referring to a 1906 Barber/Liberty half dollar ?

It does have wings & a sheild-

Does it look similar to this coin ?

There were no silver US dollars minted in between 1904 and 1921. In 1921 the Morgan and Peace were minted. Any silver US dollar he is trying to sell you supposedly minted in 1906 will be fake.

    Greetings,
At this moment, all I know is I belong in the idiot of the Month club.
I get a call and someone is explaining to me over the phone what they have. I think apparently, they don't even know...They are asking value. Silver dollars are not my thing, obviously,I just inquired from what I was told. I think, its safe to say they have some silver coin that has doubling of the eye. I hope that's at least right. I hope they bring this to me so I will be able to give the correct information about the coin.
Did they make 1986 SAE,if so, maybe that's what it is. Does this have an eagle with a shield on back?Or, better yet 2006? I am truly sorry for even posting before at least trying to identify said coin....

    Respectively,
    Sad Sack Bruce

There a couple of Morgan dollar varieties with a doubled eye, several other denominations as well. But whatever it is - I would not recommend buying coins from anyone who tries to sell them to you by making cold calls on the phone.

Silver American Eagles (assume that's what you meant by SAE) were minted from 1986 to the present. Does have a heraldic eagle on the back; guess eagle with a shield is a fair description. Haven't ever heard of any of these have doubling of the eye though... not to say it's impossible that any do, but haven't heard or seen of one.

Pic of the coin in question would help. No Morgan silver dollars were minted in 1906; none at at all were minted from 1905 to 1920. 1921 they were minted again before switching over to the Peace dollar later that year.
