I have a guy that I work with that has a 1905 indian head that has been graded and priced at $152.05. However, he got this from family and never had it personally graded nor does he know what the grade would be. He also has a 1890 Indian Head that looks to be in very good shape! These 2 are in a bag with a lot of wheat pennies and maybe a dozen or so silver pieces. He wants $200 for the bag, what do you think??
Depending on the condition, of course, the indian head is probably not worth that much. However, find out what the silver content is, that will probably be the biggest ticket item. Wheaties are worth a couple cents if common, but just like indian heads, they can range due to condition or rarity.
For $152.05 it needs to be a very nice uncirculated coin, but it probably is average circ coin worth $2.....that is far more likely and why $152.05 ?
Don't really know it's in a bag and all the info is printed on it except for the grade given. It's a very nice coin but...... Silver is halves and quarters, but not a large quantity either. I'm a penny nut so I'm looking at the 2 Indian Heads!
Based on the info, I would not do it. However, the betting side of me might go $75-$85 based on the description.
If you like cents, check out the "below wholesale lots" offered by L&C Coins. I have been pleased with my purchases in the past.
Anytime. I plan on making another purchase in the next few days, but trying to decide. I can't have it all.
Littleton's grading is usually on the mark. A 1905 IHC in Good condition is a low-grade, common coin. I would value that coin at about $1 or $1.25. $1.50 at the most. Please tell me that is not the one the guy said was worth $152.05.
