Just for the sake of discussion, what do you think a 1903-O Morgan would be worth today if it wasn't for the release of hundreds of thousands of these in 1962. In his book on Morgans he states that in uncirculated condition they were selling for $1500 in 1962. He states that in 10 years of dealing in coins he had never owned one up to that point.
My 1960 Blue Book lists the following: 1893-S - $175.00 (UNC) 1903-O - $150.00 (UNC) 1895 - $125.00 (PF) Get this! 1889-CC - $30 (UNC) Chris
My favorite: My 1964 Redbook lists an 1893 Morgan in EF for $4 (about $30 in today's money), and a common 1881s for $3.5. If that were me back then and I know that they would be very rare sometime, I would buy all the 1893 morgans I could. Back then this was more expensive than an 1893 Morgan dollar, now days, not even close.
