I've never come across one of these before but I recently found this and now I'm not really sure what to do with it. I see conflicting stories all over the internet. So posting it here. What's it worth???
The 1902 micro O is a VAM 3 and is in the Top 100 VAM list as well. PCGS has certified 95 and NGC has certified 8 VAM micro O Morgans. Hard to get a value for it as I see none on eBay for sale or that have sold, in PCGS or NGC holders; however a SEGS sold for $431 + $4 shipping.
Thanks for the reply BUncirculated. I did see that this coin is a top 100 vam but I found an article that said PCGS no longer slabs this coin and considers it a counterfeit. I believe NGC followed suit because it does not show up on their variety list. I was wondering if anyone knows if ICG or ANACS still grades these coins?
Actually, ANACS has the highest number of these slabbed, at 209 and ICG has slabbed 6. As I understand it, it's not that the coin is counterfeit, but rather because the VAM is more common to have the mm counterfeited, i.e. turning a common 1902 or even an O into a micro O.
