I cherrypicked this one recently, and am undecided as to the variety. A 1902 Indian Head cent with repunching on the 1. I initial thought it might be Snow-8, but there is no MPD in the denticles. I've been told it should be a Snow-2, except that I don't see any repunching on the 9. Any opinions welcome. Here are two photos showing light angled differently:
It could be the 1902 MPD-005 (page 186 in Kevin Flynn's book Two Dates Are Better Than One - A Collector's Guide To Misplaced Dates). Your coin has the same doubled 1 as that variety but I don't see the misplaced 0 in the denticles. That doesn't mean it's not there. Take a closer look directly below the 0 in the date. Nice cherrypick!
Thanks for having a look and commenting, Hobo. I do see some raised lines in the denticles, but they are so thin I took them to be die polish lines. At any rate its the second time someone has mentioned that particular Flynn book to me, I suppose I should finally go and buy it.
OOOOUCH - it took me a several minutes to see that first picture. Now I have a headache - great optical illusion. Nice coin - no matter what. I think I see the thin lines below the 0, but not sure what they are.
