when I went to the coin show I saw a barber dime that I did not hold in hand. didn't ask because the guy seemed like a.... "unpleasant individual" but what I saw was the date and the base of neck and then it had been struck with the rev. somehow it flipped and looked off center with the 2nd strike. it was pretty cool looking. wanted 100k for it and said it is the only one known to exist from that series. probably looked F to VF. what would that REALLY be worth? I also held an MS63 RB 1955 DDO the big one. WHAT A FREAKING AWESOME COIN!!!. the same guy had an album of all the mercs including the key dates with 16D and the 42/41. ANOTHER AWESOME COIN. had a blast :)

Ungraded? Wouldn't touch that with a 50 foot poll ungraded

I don't know how a coin so obviously cool looking as that Barber dime would pass through so many hands unprotected, so as to wear down to VF. I dare not say it is a contrivance but, as @baseball21 wrote, I wouldn't even consider a $100,000 coin ungraded.

I was looking for people's opinions as to what they think it might actually sell for if it were bid on?

Sorry if we appear skeptical of the authenticity.

But I know that feeling when you get to hold a really cool coin or bank note. Friends or family that aren't in the hobby really aren't interested, but I'm sure most of us here know exactly what you're talking about.:D

For basically nothing, no buyer with half a clue is touching that raw especially not for a premium price. If it gets graded that's an entirely different conversation but it is hard to not think that it isn't for a reason.

Probably a few hundred dollars, and any moderately knowledgeable error collector would have no problem buying it raw.
