Just gathering thoughts from the community with this coin. The coin's rim gradually begins to overlap the denticles (from 7:00 to 11:30).

My original thoughts were this was a post-mint change; however; I noticed what appears to be a collar stamp beginning under the number '1', 6:30, uniformly arcing thru the tops of the denticles to 11:30. Does anyone know if this is a true mint error, and if so, what type of condition caused the error?

Definitely a damaged coin. The damage has destroyed any collector value.
