Found this yesterday in a hobby shop. Has the O mint mark over the CC. The raised dots are from a pitted die. It's a VAM 8A. My scanner and microscope are on loan, so the close-up is through a loupe.
I think I've found about 15 unique coins from the Top 100 list. I say "unique" because I have some duplicates.... so I probably have 20 Top 100 Morgans. The majority of my coins are low grade. I found this 1889-P VAM 19A "barwing" (formerly VAM 5A) a couple of weeks ago.
Great finds! Don't you just love that feeling when you first look at a Morgan and realize it's a significant VAM? It's kinda like looking through your riflescope out into the meadow and having a buck walk into the field of view. My first Top 100 is enroute. I can't wait.
