I have this 1900 Morgan. on the 2x2 it's in it says "1900 O/CC." However, I cannot make out a CC imprint at all on the reverse...I know it can be faint, but I just don't see it. My eye isn't trained, though, so I may be missing it. First, a small version of the pic: http://www.locofam.com/gallery/silvercoins/occmorgan_001 Now, the man-sized version. Dial up beware! it's like 2.5MB, but allows for a lot more detail to be seen: http://www.locofam.com/gallery/silvercoins/occmorgan_001?full=1 Here's the obverse: http://www.locofam.com/gallery/silvercoins/frontoccmorgan Any idea if this is really O/CC? Also, any idea on grade and value? thanks!
MarkyD, Since I have a dialup connection, the 2.5MB file takes too long to open! The other two files are okay but you need to take a picture of the Mintmark and the surrounding area only. If you can't get a good closeup of just the Mintmark and surrounding area only that is in focus, then get the best closeup that you can then crop the image with a Photo program to include only what is needed. This will zoom in the area while also reducing the size of the file to some extent. I was able to copy and save the small file image of the Reverse and it appears that there may be something under the "O" but I can't be sure until you have a better picture of the Mintmark and surrounding area. MarkyD, I cannot see a "CC" Mintmark under the "O" but that does not mean it is not there! It looks more like there is some damage to the Northeast edge of the "O" or Strike pinch which is similar but not as strong as Strike or Machine Doubling. This could be confused as the upper right curl of a "C" in "CC". My advice would be to take the coin to a Coin Dealer (other than the one you purchased the coin from if is was in fact purchased from a Coin Dealer) and have it looked at under a Microscope. Frank
