Not bad, XF40/45. You paid full retail but a good looking Indian.

The color looks a bit off (old cleaning, I'd say), but I'd also say it's worth the money you paid. I'd call that strong AU details, personally.

Edit: PS- on second look, maybe the color's OK, and it's just the lighting in the photos. I can't say for sure. Regardless, it's a nice one.

By way of comparison, I paid $16.00 for this one, which I would also call AU.

I think that assessment was a tad on the strict side, but opinions always vary on grading topics like this. I would put your coin at AU55-58, personally, with the only caveat being my uncertainty about how original the color is.

    It's pretty sharp.

Yes, and that's something to look for on an unmolested upper-AU coin. If it doesn't have trace luster, it might have been cleaned.

Nice! I think you got a good price on that, I'd say AU details for the grade, I've seen them in similar condition listed online for $10-$25 so I think you paid fairly for it.:)

The first to show wear on these is the lower hair curl above the date. hair above the ear, liberty, and the second feather. These all show flattening, also the luster, there really isn't any except next to the devices. Solid coin for an XF price.

While I'd have put the numerical details grade higher, I can agree with most of that.

Solid coin for XF price, indeed. But maybe not something I'd have paid AU price for, if only due to minor concerns over the color and apparent lack of luster.

I have always graded a bit on the conservative side. You could be right. When @Rafique posts his photos and there is more apparent luster I wouldn't hesitate going to an AU grade.

And I am sure that practice has served you well over time. When it's my money on the table, I try to be the same way.
