Hi! Can someone tell me if they see a difference in the 00's in the 1900's in these pics? Sorry for the smaller pic. It's the only one available. I've read that the Wide 00's are rare and much more valuable than the narrow 00's.
A few mths ago I started buying gold and silver bullion. As I've looked around, I've kinda gotten into jewelry and coins. I saw this coin w/ 5 mins left in the auction and couldn't tell what it was worth. I got it for $13 (w/ S+H) and it's going rate might be $10 or it might be a few hundred. I'm 95% sure it's not the rare kind, but thought someone hear might educate me. The coin should be here late this week or so. Thanks
Well, just looked this coin up in the 2009 Charlton, and it looks like you got the rarer large date variety there.(Wide 0's). Im convinced it is anyway. Thats a beautiful coin there, Im not much of a grader but I want to provide you a possible value. Please let me know if you would like any other values associated with any other grades.Ive given you the trend value of the samll date as well, just to show you the difference between the 2. Large date EF40-200 buck, AU50-325 buck Small date EF40-50 bucks, AU50-75 bucks
To be clear, the coin I purchased is the one in the little pic. Looking at the space between the 9 and 0, its looks to be the narrow version. Hope Im wrong. There may be all kinds of issues with the coin, but I knew it had potential value above and beyond my $13, so I thought I'd give it a shot.
Oooppsss..my mistake. I cant really tell which one you have from that pic. Hopefully you will be sucessful in getting a new one posted.
The coin in the small picture unfortunately only looks like a narrow 0 variety. Worth about what you paid. Although cherry picking one of these would be the best feeling in the world, you haven't been so lucky. Of course I will be able to feel comfortable with my assesment after you post the new pictures.
ill get a pic on here, just not sure how good itll look. All i have is a web cam. lol. Maybe I can borrow a good camera from one of my rich relatives.
believe it or not, your webcam should be fine. Hold your magnifying glass up to the lens on your cam, it should work just fine. Shawn
