Hello, i was over at a relatives house browsing his coin collection when i ran across this Lincoln penny with an interesting punch mark over the date, probably PMD but i'm not an error coin guy so i figured i'd ask.

Very, very unlikely this occurred in the coining chamber so I would say PMD. What does the reverse like?

Not sure what you are showing in your close-up photo but you can see where the upper-right portion of the Memorial and nearby lettering was flattened when the obverse was punched. Definitely PMD.
