Mintmark appears to be MMS-002, so I do not think it is a 1909-s. My guess would be 1919-S. the VDB initials would be located on the shoulder, although the coin may be too worn to tell. Keep up the hunt!
Yeah, I agree with all of the others. 1919 was a pretty bad year it seems for grease filled dies. I have seen literally hundreds of them in various grades with date/legends missing. Maybe they were just still drunk from celebrating the end of WWI? IDK.
