I like US currency but will admit that my knowledge of it is not super strong. My wife's grandmother recently passed away and when going through her stuff her mom came across a few US notes. I know these are 1899 Silver Certificates and all have Teehee/Burke signatures. Two of the $1 notes are in quite poor condition but one is nicer (still lower grade however)...my grading skills when it comes to paper is useless. The $2 corner is folded, not torn. Could someone give me an idea of value on these notes so I could pass it along. Thanks.
Cool Notes! Amazing art compared to today's currency. I would check Ebay for SOLD ITEMS for these Average graded notes except one of the One Dollar notes that looks in VF condition.
The two rough $1 notes are not worth very much in my opinion, maybe $30-$50 each at most, probably less. The nicest $1 note it worth in my opinion $75 to $100. The note with the most value is the $2. I wouldn't be surprised if you could get $150 or more for that note. Of course something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it... Best of luck!
Even the worn notes will be worth about $40-$50. Those Black Eagles Notes are in strong demand and that nicer one will cost over $100. I like them and that $2 note. The artwork is so much better than what we have today. Be sure to put all of them in a PVC free sleeve for notes.
