Anyone got any ideas on this, it 'should' be gold, but its not.
A local dealer is selling it. And why don't I ask them about it?
They had another coin listed a while back on eBay, it looked like
a rare variety, so I asked about it, they emailed me back, 'thanks for
the info, it is rare, we didn't realize', they pulled it and relisted at 10x the price.
So hopefully someone might know something about it, they say its a pattern,
but I can't find anything listed for 1898-A 20 Mark pattern or trial piece.
Any ideas? Its going for $75 US.

There were various patterns, trials and off-metal strikes of these coins struck. I don't have access to my Schaff pattern reference book from here at the office, but perhaps another member can put their hands on one. Generally, these off-metal strikes have minimal value, but there are some scarcer ones. Schaff likely has additional info. -Preussen
