ok experts, i just found an 1898 mexican republica mexicana with eagle on one side and 5 centavos 60R902.7 on other. what do you know about it?
Howdy azwildgato - Welcome to the Forum !! The coin was struck in .9030 silver. The variety struck at the Culiacan mint (mint mark Cn) had a mintage of 44,000 and varies in value from $1.75 to $20.00. The variety struck at the Guanajuato mint (mint mark Go) had a mintage of 180,000 and varies in value from $7.50 to $75.00.
graciasamigo thanks for info! so the 60 i thought actually is the mint, eh. GO equals guanajuato mint...cool and so what would be my next step as to determining value? I now have coin scratch fever!
Value is largely determined the condition or grade of the coin. If you can post a pic we'll be glad to offer our opinions as to grade.
