Hello - new member here. I have been lurking for awhile, but I really wanted to get the opinion of this board on this coin. As you can see in the pictures (hopefully I uploaded correctly), it is pretty beat up. The "50" on the back is very worn down from what I can tell. I have attached photos both with and without a flash. So, since I'm rather new ant this, could anyone give me an estimated grade? And of course, an approximate value?

Thanks in advance. I hope to contribute more to this community as I learn more.

Catalog for this 1897-H coin is $160 in Fine. This coin isn't quite that nice, maybe Very Good or so. The only one of these we've ever auctioned was a Very Fine that went for $115 in 2004.

Thanks. I was having quite a bit of trouble finding any records re: this coin. It seems to be fairly rare. Too bad it's not in better condition, but I guess I can't complain after finding it in an old jar of "junk" foreign coins.

That's one heck of a nice junk find! I wish I could be so lucky...

If anyone is interested, I'm selling this coin on eBay. I also have a few other auctions going. They all end in about 5 hours. I think it's probably frowned upon to post a link here, but a quick search should be able to find the coin pretty easily due to its rarity.
