I got this last week and upon further inspection I looked at the "O" on the reverse and noticed it was high and over to the left of center. I compared it to another "O" on a Morgan I had. The first picture is an "O" centered and the second is the off-centered. DSC09767 (2).JPG DSC09762 (2).JPG I see the difference so don't you ? Let me know .

Vam-5 O set high and left - seems to be. Why does the 2nd picture look so weird compared to the first one?

The second image looks like it has been photoshopped.

No photoshopping I can take another picture if you would like, maybe at a different angle.

My comment wasn't intended to be taken negatively. It's just that it's the way the photo looks. It serves the purpose as far as the mintmark is concerned. As for the placement of the mintmark, like the date, they were all hand-punched into the dies in those days.

As far as the coin itself, because of the heavy build-up, would allowing it to soak in distilled water help with getting rid of the dirt ?

No I understand it's just that some like a picture at a different angle to look at.
