There are 2 varieties of 1896 20¢ one with a small 96 and one with a large 96. Prices range from $6.00 to $700.00 for the small to $8.00 - $1,000.00 for the large. You will have to post a picture if you want us to estimate the grade.

    Welcome to the forum guns.
That particular coin must be seen to be evaluated.

Listed in the Standard Catalog of World Coins as KM#4, there were 125,000 minted in 1896 weighing 4.7127g, and composed of sterling (.925) silver. The .1401 troy ounces of pure silver give it a bullion value of approximately US$1.

The catch is that the value depends on both the condition of the coin, and the size of the "96"l.

The "small 96" version is listed with values from US$3 for VG-8 (well worn with all design features visible, though flat) to US$1,800 in MS-63 (uncirculated, full luster, good strike, few marks or scratches, never cleaned).

With a "large 96, the range goes to US$4-1,900 in the same grades.

Edited to add: Bromac types faster than I do! :(

(My prices are from the 3rd Ed., 19th Century volume.)
