This coin was in a album, it has some wild toning going on .The obverse looks bluish,and reverse looks golden.I know my cheep scope does not do justice with this photo.So I was wondering if you guys think the cardboard is the cause of this?
my guess is...looks like it was cleaned earlier and toned up darker later on. wait for better opinions...
Toning is unattractive but looks natural. Too much glare from the coin to tell if it is polished or cleaned.
Hard to say--blurry, low res images. Could be either--does kind of look like cleaning and re-toning, but impossible to say with those images.
Whether cleaned or not it is the sulfur in the cardboard that is responsible for most of the toning on the coin now . IMHO .

40yrs ago cleaning coins was as common as a Kardashian on a tabloid cover. I'm willing to bet it was cleaned to "brighten it up" just before it was put into that album. Just like alot of us do today with acetone but they would use surface stripping acids back then
A little unnaturally glossy from an old dip or cleaning coins tone much faster after they've been cleaned. Beat up cheek too I'd put it at the ms 60-61 range
