1896-Indian head-possible error

    Hi,I'm not sure if this coin is an error or not it seems bu almost but has a weak A at the end of America and also the date seems weak.Please post you're thoughts on this coin

    I don't see anything that might be considered an error, taking your word for it, it might be a weak strike, but this coin certainly isn't BU, more like EXF, possibly AU.

    it's possible that it's struck through grease. some grease got packed into the A and 6 on the die, it didn't completely fill the letter and number, so they're weak but not missing completely. It's also possible that something smashed the letter and number down sometime in the last 122 years, but it's hard to tell from photos.
