    Good Day.

I have an 1895 NEW GUINEA 20 mark Gold Coin for sale left to me by my mother who passed away last year. It is original, not a copy - Also where could I find out more about the number minted and history of this coin?

If you don't know the answers - perhaps you could put me in contact with someone who can? Where do you suggest I try to sell it?

I would appreciate any help you could give.

    Kind Regards,

    Andrew Wilson

    There were 1,500 minted.

These are widely faked, so I would recommend that you have it certified by a reputable third party grading service before attempting to sell it.

I would also suggest that no one buy a coin like this, unless it has been certified as genuine by a reputable third party grading service.

Where did you find the information? I have hunted high and low in the 19th Century Krause, with no success :(

It's on page 922, top left corner of the 3rd Edition 19th Century Krause. And I'd agree with Jody - it needs to be authenticated. Krause value is over $12,000.00

But I gotta say - if that coin is a fake - it's the best dang fake I've ever seen.

    rafikicat2004 -

You take care of that coin - don't touch it without clean cotton gloves on your hands. And get it authenticated - immediately.
