Top of the world Ma! I feel like Cagney after the big steal. Last night at Heritage I won a 1893-S/S Barber dime in XF-40. The coin is noted on the holder as the repunched mintmark and is in the old style White Anac holders I have been chasing for my new collection.
I got mine for $159 juice included. It is hard to price coins that don't pop up often. GC sold a pair of G-4 coins for around $100 plus a VF-35 for $193 but all those sales are 10 or more years old. HA sold a Sm. Wht. Hld. AU-50 for $329 but that too was in 2012.
Combined PCGS/NGC population is 40 coins; PCGS puts a $265 price tag but even I wouldn't have paid that. Maybe it is because of the increased fees at HA. Maybe other bidders are off at FUN and didn't bother. Maybe the warm rootbeer colored toning with luster hiding in the crevices was a turnoff to other collectors. Don't care. I wone, I won ,I won!! Excellent! I was tracking that one for some reason, just general interest I guess because RPM/RPD stuff is usually outside my focus. I didn't bid on it. Was there a live auction scramble for it, or did your max bid stick?

I did pick up a 1909 5c AU58 which I think is the "beer belly B" discussed with @justafarmer in your thread here https://www.cointalk.com/threads/barber-coin-varieties.419676/page-3. I was outbid going into the live auction but I had put a "bid protection" increment on it and ended up winning. I wasn't paying attention during the live auction. It was a little more than I thought it would go for, but I think there's extra competition in the AU58 grades with people chasing an "everyman" set. I think someone was selling off theirs, because there were a lot of AU58 Liberty nickels being auctioned - every date 1895-1912 had an AU58 for sale.

    Anyway, congratulations on another acquisition!

@KBBPLL . To be honest Heritage showed the listed value for a common date $110 rather than the values listed for an S/S . I can't remember anybody but PCGS with their $265 but I do know everyone had it in the $225 to $275 range.
I put a bid of $150 and the auction opened at the $110 amount. One bid came in, my bid replied; then it closed at $130. I am very happy with that result.
I am hoping to do mainly XF with the Pre 1900 coins and shoot for mainly AU 1900 and on.
I am glad you won your coin; I too have noticed the AU-58 coins seem to draw a number of trackers and bidders. James

I should add that I have a list of different varieties I would like to get across all three denominations. So far this year I am 2 for 2. First the 09-S Half with inverted "S' and now this repunched mintmark. James
