I would not buy this coin. I'd rather save my money for a straight graded proof.

Best to stay away from this coin. It's improperly cleaned and that's a form of damage.

I certainly wouldn't pay PR Liberty nickel money for it, but for the right lowball offer, I could certain see myself adding this to my collection. I think (and this is 100% my opinion based on nothing), if it were under $100, I could see myself considering it. Having said that, in 9 out of 10 cases, I'd pass on this and put the $100 toward a straight graded PR V nickel.

Stay away from it, it's junk. Just think, sometime between 1891 and now, some ignoramus thought "it's worth more, now that I shined it up real good", probably had some drool running out the corner of their mouth while they were doing it, too.

There is nowhere to go with this. The collectors who are willing pay $100 + for a coin wouldn’t want it. The “bottom feeders” won’t pay anything for it. Pass.

I’d pass. Not hard to find in proof straight graded

I agree with Mainebill and johnmilton, both very experienced dealers; that coin is not rare and has been seriously abused. Even at a low price it is no bargain.
