Picked this up the other day, it is expected to come in very soon. I've been eyeing these types of coins for some time, just haven't had the capital coming in.

Pretty sweet coin - I claimed it first by a mere few seconds - I had to make my decision quick!

Mintage of a mere 600 (rather low compared to previous years) and some sweet color - all at a nice price - made this a no brainer... Should I consider a crossover? ;)

I would leave it in the old Anacs slab.
It's a cool type piece and the old slab adds intrigue. In a new PCGS/NGC holder, it's just another 62 grade proof (and from my experiences, people tend to shy away from the 60-62 grades). The toning would help and if it upgraded, you might do better but you could also spend fees and not see any return.

Absolutely lovely. I'd cheerfully add that to my own collection.

MS/PR62 is, like AU58, one of those "value grades", which pack a lot of bang for the buck.

As to crossover, I think it's fine in the old small ANACS holder, but if you do attempt a PCGS/NGC crossover, make sure you get TrueView or Photovision images with it.

Let it be... as a seated quarter collector that would catch my eye in the old soap bar... way before in a newer slab. I personally have seen and owned au and low ms grades coins that command much higher premiums than one would believe.

Oh stop it! What an absolutely mouth watering seated! Personally, I would leave it in the ANACS holder. It just adds an uncommon visual appeal.

Unless you want to put it into a registry set, I'd leave it alone for now. Crossovers are a bear. You will also certainly need to crack out of the holder, which means you will have a totally raw coin.

All sorts of things can happen after that. You could a better grade, a lower grade or no grade. I don't think that the last two would happen, but you can't predict what the TPGs might do. They surprised me when I was a dealer.

For what it's worth, this 1869 Proof quarter, which is the same type, is an NGC PR-64 holder.

Great coin Evan. I would leave it as already said.
The tones are nice, and it would probably garner a little profit from a soap box collector.

Nice pick up, Evan! Myself, I’d do a crossover but that’s only because I have a registry type set going.

Thank you everyone! It came in this morning and is stunning, for sure.

This has been a big year for me and my collecting. Finally, the confidence is there to pull the trigger on higher quality / higher price items.

I have since received four offers to send this to the new CAC Grading service. I have not capitulated yet. :)

Personally, I would wait. The soap box holder should hold a nice premium as long as it looks conservatively graded.
