I was looking through some coins when I came accros a 1889 morgan with some clash marks. I tried to look it up on the internet but didn't find anything. Then I noticed a description for a 1889 Vam 30, it said it can be identified by a die crack above "states" on the back, my coin had this. But it didn't say anything about a clashed die. Does it have a clashed die? Is this a different vam? Or, is it a new Vam?
A clash does not have it's own VAM number unless there is a letter transfer. If your coin is a known VAM(30), then if it is clashed it will be a 30A.
Do you have any photos hamman? I'm just getting into vams and they can be pretty awesome. http://vamworld.wikispaces.com/
