It looks to me like that is the kind of green that would come off very easily in a solvent like acetone.

It is a decent coin (perhaps lightly cleaned but still market acceptable sans the green). But it appears to grade MS-61 or two at best. In that grade, I think $100 less than the asking price would be about right.

This is funny, in view of your comment on C-B-D's off-center IHC. That's the seller he got it from. :)

I don't think the PVC on this coin has advanced to the point of permanent damage yet. So, you could probably remove it completely. But, like dcarr, I see MS62 as about the ceiling for this one, meaning after the cost of grading you're break-even at best. Even if you can find a buyer willing to spend the money on a semi-key Morgan in low MS, which is a narrow demographic.

Link still works for me. Are you on Mobile? Ebay can be wonky for me sometimes on Android/Chrome.

I've seen much worse. That in the OP is easily cured. No biggie.

After looking at the link there is no way in hell I'd pay $300+ for that thing anyway.

I've also had real good luck with a few best offers from that seller. It's all about knowing what to look for.

Link worked for me on a tablet.

This seller is always high priced. I Just cherrypicked a contemporary counterfeit from him and had to get him down in price. Literally had to tell him what the coin was to get him to accept my offer. I want to show it on here in the near future but am a little worried he may be a member of CT.

He has it priced at MS63. Seems like it could be saved, tho. You never know with his coins. He scans them a lot of times, so it's hard to discern what's what. This seller used to be "The Curious Cabinet" but recently changed their name. Always take returns, though. Always easy to deal with, although a bit slow to communicate. BUT, they have nearly 12,000 coins listed, which would explain why.

I just cherried a 1865 RPD 2 center from him today. Most times he knows what he had, some times he doesn't. But I'll bet that with 12,000 coins, he doesn't really care that much either. Besides, it'sgood for business to leabe a little meat on the bone for the next guy.

I care about everyone. I just meant that I didn't care if you posted your coins. I should have clarified my post.

Based on the images alone, I knew exactly which seller you were referring to. His prices are typically right at retail if graded. The plus about his listing's is the images are typically high enough resolution to zoom in on and try to find Cherrypicks. I have not bought anything from them yet.

I think I would pass on that one. Shapes up to me as more trouble than it would be worth.
