This 1889 silver Morgan dollars seems to have the traits of an 1889 CC vam1 Either it had grease on it or it's been altered ?

This Morgan dollar seems to have the trait of an 1889 cc Vam 1 Yet it looks like either there was a grease mark or the coin has been altered ?

VAM-1 is typically assigned to the normal die for the date. I don't see the "Closed 9" of the date associated with the 1889 VAM-1. You should keep looking.

By the way, you posted this thread twice, probably because you forgot to post the images the first time. I used the "Report" function to ask the mods to combine the two threads. In the future, you can do the same thing simply by clicking on "Report" yourself.
