Ok so ive never posted here but have been using this site for a long time to help me figure stuff out but i cant find anything about this morgan silver dollar i have. First off its in great shape it has minimal wear on it and still shines bright.you can make out 100% of the detail on it. So ive had this one for a while but a week ago i found something hiddennon the obverse that i cant find mention of anywhere else. At the top of the coin above the head lightly stamped under the BUS of pluribus you can make out the letters DOLL and under that an S. If you flip the coin to the reverse this light stamp is almost perfectly in the place where DOLLAR and the S mint mark are supposed to be. Im gonna get the best pics i can and hopefully someone will know something or be able to point me in the right direction.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

    It's a die clash.
There are others that will be around to tell you more.

I agree with Fred on this one. It certainly does look like a fake. That being said, I am no expert on the series.

As stated, probably counterfeit. With that amount of clash marks the VAM would be listed on a HOT list. I see no VAM listing for this die set.
