I have what I can only guess to be a 1887 seated liberty coin(probably a dime). I looked on numerous websites and I have found coins with similiar fronts(seated liberty) but the back of the coin I have appears to have some sort of a Family Crest on the back and no other writings. Anyone have guess as to what it could be and of course what it is worth?

Sounds like it could be a love token. If you can post a picture it will really help.

I'm going to try and scan it as I'm not having much luck taking a picture of it.

yes it is a "Love Token"---it might get $20-$30 on ebay but maybe less---it all depends on bidders!

Nice item! I have about 20 Love tokens. I sold about half of what I had on Ebay and they went any where from $12 to $75. They were all on seated dimes that I sold. I have some on seated quarters, 1 on a gold dollar and 1 on a Seated Half dollar. In general the better the etch work the better the value. The one I sold for $75 said GOD on the reverse with a fance design around the outside of the coin and the letters were very fancy as well and the coin was high grade.
