1887/6 $1 ??

    Is it an overdate? Does it have a VAM number? The coin grades XF. Thanks!

    Looks like a VAM-2. I think it's the only 7/6 overdate for 1887-P. It's also a Top 100 coin and worth a nice premium.

    What does the rest of the coin look like. The darkness around the protected areas of the numbers make it look like it may have been cleaned. Hope not.

    It could be the victim of an old cleaning. Doesn't have any hairlines from polishing, though. Whaddya think??

    I'd say it's been cleaned alright - but I can't offer any help with the variety.
