1887 1/2 Crown

    Received this 1887 silver half crown coin today. Really love the detail on this one!

    great coin. KM#764, .925 silver. While I am looking it up in my 2004 Krause world coin catalog I notice something strange. The 1887 is the least valued than the rest of the years for this coin. I would think it would be the other way around 1st year being valued the most ??? It's an amazing coin and grade. Is it AU or UNC ??? thanks for sharing it. :cool::cat::cat::cat:

    First year coins are usually the least valuable because everyone saved them. Usually the second or third year of issue is the best.
    It looks AU, or per European Grading, EF or gEF.

    The details on these are really nice. Even tiny little Saint George hanging from the order of the garter looks good:
