1886 Seated Liberty Dime

    Hi guys, Just wondering if you knew anything about this dime. It looks a little strange, like there is an 1888/86 overdate. Hope you can help! Thanks. :)

    It looks like the date just took a hit. Possibly from coming in contact with another coin in a coin pouch/purse, or from a coin counting or roll crimping machine.

    One thing's for certain - it's no overdate

    I'm thinking an 1886 that someone worked on a bit to try and pass it as an 1880.
