1886 Morgan "O"

    can someone give me a grade on this Morgan O?
    i don't know whether its bad wear, a bad strike, or both

    It looks like someone may have used it as a pocket piece. Note how most of the highest points are pretty evenly worn. AG-G at best.

    I would say that is one well worn Morgan. I would say it would grade around G-4

    thank you both.. this coin belonged to my great grandmother so i wasnt expecting much... i looked up Morgans in Mint condition and read that they were known for weak strikes, counterfeits, and the New Orleans minting are more collectable than Philly. other than that i knew absolutely nada this morning lol

    It is highly worn. AG is the approximate condition. It isn't a strike issue--that has been around for a long time in circulation.
