  1. Hey guys, was going through a few things the other day, and noticed this coin... the obverse die is slightly of center. I was wondering if you guys could tell me whether this would fetch a premium, or if it is negligible. Also, any opinions on grade would be much appreciated :)

Sorry, no premium, IMO. In general, and in my experience, a coin needs to be more than 5% off center to start to fetch a premium to error collectors.

  4. Ok, that's what I was thinking. Thanks!

  5. Would anyone care to offer an opinion on the grade?

Is that a bang on the obverse rim 11 o'clock ?

Does the coin in hand have any luster ? The photo doesn't.

The wear pattern in Libbie's hair is odd. The coin has AU detail elsewhere, so I would expect more detail in the hair. Seems almost like it's flattened out somehow.

At best, it's AU53. It's likely a bodybag; if the luster is dead, it's been cleaned and it's BB. It's possible the rim bang would BB, but maybe not.

So hard to tell from photos.

  7. Most of the issues you've pointed out are just because of poor lighting and the fact that this coin is protected inside a 2x2 :)

There is no rim bang. The rims are pretty clean, all around.

In hand, the coin shows evidence of cartwheel luster... I tried to take pics of the coin at different angles to show its luster... The original pics I had uploaded were mainly for detail.

I think the first set of pics had 900fine fooled. ;)

That's a TPG-graded low to mid MS coin in my mind. I'd guess 62-64, so I'll average that and say 63.

  9. So what would you say about the hair on top of her head? Weak strike? or wear?

The reality is that it's wear. I can tell that much from your pics. What a TPG would grade it - I cannot.
