This 77mm medal barely fit in the largest airtite I could find. Unfortunately,
it was too tight a fit and now I can't get it out (by tapping, banging, etc).
Before I try cracking, cutting or melting, I thought I'd ask if someone
has already come up with a safe way to extricate something like this.

    Thanks!

I don't use airtites yarm so I don't have any advice for you, but It would be a tragedy to damage such a beautiful medal by trying to remove it. Why not just leave it in the holder?

Would putting it in the freezer cause the metal to contract sufficiently to safely remove it? Perhaps Desertgem would have the answer.

On another note, that is one amazing medal!

I would not put it in the freezer! This method left condensation marks on a proof coin of mine:( Lesson learned for me. BTW great medal!!! I would leave it in the airtight if it were me.

Cazkaboom One for all, all for me.

You could try putting a knife blade in the cracks of the air tite and try prying it open. Just don't cut yourself.

Thanks for the ideas! I was considering having it slabbed in one of the jumbo NGC holders but will likely just leave it be for now.
