1885 Proof Set

    I need to win the lottery! Of course, I would want one with a 2 cent, so dig a bit deeper. It would be cool to own, but that thing would take up my budget for the next 10+ years!

    That is a bit high, but for a matching proof set of that era, maybe not. I really don't like the toning either, it is just too much. Also, notice some have CAC stickers and some do not. And some are CAM while others are not. I usually assemble sets like this one coin at a time so that I can really be choosy about it. I sure could use that 3 cent though.

    So what is it worth, or better yet if you collected it one coin at a time could you do it cheaper.

    I don't think it would be much cheaper to assemble this set one coin at a time, but I think that the end result would be a nicer more eye appealing set.

    I would want a set a bit older, because I love a good 2 cent piece. I just guess that I would have to pay more. I can't afford anything near this anyway.
