Found an1884-O Morgan with a partial hole near the "I" in "United" on the reverse. Any idea why our how this coin would have a partial hole in it? It does not go all the way through and is raised slightly around the edge of the hole. Possibly from counterfeit testing or something?

Possibly someone wanted to turn it into jewelry and never finished the job. Only the one who drilled the hole can tell us for certain.

I agree to the jewelry mounting theory.

That's about all it's good for at this point anyways. Seems a very odd place to drill it for a necklace, unless it was being strung side by side or something. Thanks for your feedback.

Side to side could be a bracelet.

Looks like what they call "schroff" marks on some Indian coins. Basically a test mark.
