I have an 1884 Liberty Head Five Cent that has the name W.E. Young Counterstamped on the coin. Can someone tell me who W.E. Young is and How much would this coin be worth? The coins Grade would be around AU.

Hi Matt, and welcome to the forum.
Whoever he was, he wasn't important enough in the world scheme of things to get his name recognized by Google. :p

Apparently his greatest claim to fame is that he managed to destroy all numismatic value of a coin that might otherwise have been worth close to a hundred bucks, or so.

The counterstamp is damage, and damaged AU coins are worth bullion value when they are gold or silver, but are virtually worthless when they are base metal.

Unless the counterstamp can be attributed and the counterstamper is important in some way. There are collectors of counterstamped coins and they do sometimes pay a premium for them, but I doubt this is one of those that would command a premium, unfortunately. You could eBay it and see for yourself, but I suspect that it would sell for about $10-$25.
