1883 with "cent" V nickel value?

I went to my LCS and bought a 1883 V nickel in FA 2/AG 3 with cents a for 40 cents. I also bought a shield nickel with no date for another 40 cents. Did I get a good deal?

Post some pictures of them! You might be able to tell what the date was on the sheild nickel because of the dies that were used. But for under $1 you can't go wrong

 

All depends on what you want...kind of fun stuff.
