https://archive.org/details/guideusthreecent2003gifford/page/n277/mode/2up Here Alan this reference is free to use...your image isn't clear enough to make a call on grade from what I can see its F +/- perhaps better. The value for an 83 depending on grade $500- 700 in f to xf nice coin i do collect both silver and CN three cent pcs. Alan look below as well the link I gave you. I believe that yours is an ms coin B05 in hand study your specimen to the ones on the guide. On lower mintages of CN lll esspecially this one you'll find more proofs than ms coins. If your specimen is in fact the B05 thats a better coin as most probably an R-5 or better
That's very common on small coins like this...on h 10's youll find in the mid 1850's that the denticals are sometimes fused together or 1 side the teeth are perfect and the other side a mess.
Alan i want you to look at your specimen at the spot my arrow points to Do you see a die strached going from the top curl to the coins edge
An authentic 1883 3CN is a very valuable coin... please if you can remove the coin from the 2x2 so you can take clear pics.
It's a pretty nice coin and agreed with what has been said above. As I looked closer on the reverse could these be possible casting bubbles?
Hello. Wouldn't hurt to weigh it and test it (example: with metal detector). I suspect counterfeit given the low mintage.
Even with the underlit images I can see the obverse is complete mush. Absolutely no detail in the center of the portrait - cast counterfeit in my opinion.
Nice looking. But take it out before pictures. I don’t know much about 3 centers. So checking your coin is hard to grade when you never had one With that saying that the plastic doesn’t help
