I had to chuckle when I saw this Shield Nickel on eBay.

1883-P SHIELD NICKEL BETTER DATE ANACS NO RAYS

[For those that don't know, Shield Nickels were minted 1866-1883. The 1866 and some 1867 Shield Nickels had rays on the reverse. The rays were removed mid-1867. So ALL 1883 Shield Nickels have the 'No Rays' reverse. The Liberty Nickel was introduced in 1883 and in its introductory year had two varieties - 'No Cents' and 'With Cents'. Perhaps the eBay seller got confused and mixed up the 1883 Shield Nickel with the 1883 Liberty Nickel.)

Very possible - or it was a way to get rays in the title so if someone searches on rays it appears. I know I have used a few searches that I thought would reduce the hits, but didn't really work.

Not exactly a "better date" either, although he reiterates it in the description. And he's ANA and seems to be a pretty big seller.
