1883 Nickel Possible Strike Through

    Friend of mine picked this up on eBay. Now that they have it in hand, I’m leaning towards damage.

    Look to the left of the 'void' above the star

    ....that's a planchet lamination -

    so I believe that area is laminated;
    it's hard to know for sure from the
    photo, but that's what I lean to.....
