1883 Indian Head Penny.

    Would this penny be worth grading or should I keep it raw? I found it laying in a box that I had gone through and I must have missed it.

    i agree and i am unsure if it would be holdered. that funny color on it could be corrosion.

    I'm somewhere between VF20 and EF40. VF35 sounds like a good one. I agree that it isn't worth slabbing. Nice find though. It must have been your lucky day.

    It's been our lucky 2 months thanks to late family members who were avid collectors. The total when I pulled all the coins into PCGS set registry was around $47,000, and most of that figure in 6 coins. It's been the most exciting thing I've ever had the honor of taking part in. Honestly, I don't think I'll ever understand someone paying $17,000 for a coin, but I'm not sure I want to understand in fear that I might want another one :). I do find an almost unhealthy attraction to hefty gold coins though.
