Free, my brother gave it to me. He has had it for so long, I doubt he remembers what he paid.

Yeah 62-63. When I was looking into getting my 83 cc, 62-63 was most common.

Impossible to give a grade opinion on those scans, because you can't see the coin enough to determine the devices and all.

Can you do close up photos of just the coin? Not the whole GSA slab. That way it will give us a better idea.

ScannedImage-3.jpg ScannedImage-4.jpg It is hard to get any good detail through the slab. This is about as good as I could get.

    No way of telling.

Since the majority of GSA Morgans are MS, that's all one can say.

with that scan I'll hazard that the cheek is clean enough for an MS-64

ok now I'm seeing some nicks on the bottom of Liberty's jaw. Can you take a clear, large picture of her head/cheek ?

There are a couple of scuffs on her jaw and nose. Nothing too bad and no nicks or dings.

alright then well I guess depending on the scuffs I'll just say MS-63 to MS-64. As an avid GSA collector and CC nut, nice coin :D

So my next question would be, would it be worth it to take it out of the GSA slab and send it to PCGS for grading, for just leave it alone?

if you want it graded why not just send it to NGC, they'll grade it but wont touch the gsa.

Your not going to reap any benefit by removing the coin and submitting to NGC or PCGS. Leave it as is, is my suggestion. As for a grade, I'd call it a 62/63 at best from the photo's you provided.

    DO.NOT.REMOVE.THAT.COIN.FROM.THAT.HOLDER

if anything send it to NGC and it still grade it with a band around the GSA holder.
