1883 Canadian 10 Cents double whammy!

    I found these 2 vickies in one week while metal detecting..... Only 300,000 minted that year. whats the odds of finding 2?

    makes for a great tale, but really those coins have never seen dirt, or if they have it has been expertly removed. Nice story

    I hunt in the same area as the OP. I have dozens of silver coins that I've dug that are in the same condition. Our soil doesn't affect the coins all that much unless it's in low lying wet areas. Just a rinse in water is all that is needed to clean them. Other than some staining this is how silver coins come out:
