Should i send either of these in? Hopefully the pics show how pristine and un bagged they are. What do you guys think?
well the first two are the same coin, the 3rd is just the one that one on the bottom of the wrap. The breast is a bit darkened but i think just from slight abrasion in the wrap. These came out of a very old paper wrapper. I put them in mylar so i can enjoy them and prevent them from getting messed up. Given this date, i never submitted b/c it's such a prevalent date.
Common date, nothing exceptional to grade, I would save the money of submission fees, postage, insurance, yadda yadda.
1881-s Morgans are about the most common graded Morgans available. Id just sell it and use the grading fees towards a nicer one thats already in a slab. Just because these are so common in all the high grades and every possible toning pattern you can imagine. Sent from my Motorola Electrify using Tapatalk
I agree with the others...this coin is a normal example of this date. The 1881-S is considered to be the second best struck coin in the series (next to the 1880-S) and they are extremely common in high grade MS. It's not worth the money unless you have an extremely choice example to send it in. I would not send this coin in.
Worth sending in on this coin IMO if it's MS65 or higher, generally not worth it any lower. I'd make the same comment about common CC dollars, BTW, even though they're more valuable. Unfortunately, I can't tell enough from the images to have a decent idea of the grade. I'd also like to see better images to get an idea of whether the coin has a chance at Prooflike -- common on these, but it does bring a premium and might be worth sending in at 64PL.
