What would you grade it and why? What about the toning, is it damage, natural, etc.? Thanks in advance! Spencer
It looks more like discoloration rather than toning. Are those blotches on her face hiding any scratches, gouges or dings? The coin has a golden hue on the upper left portion and an olive drab hue on the lower right. Since it appears nearly the same for both the obverse and reverse, I can only assume this is a result of your camera and lighting setup. Chris
AU, there are scratches under the blotches on Liberty's cheek, I see what appears to be a fingerprint on the cheek near the jaw line, the breast feathers have quite a bit of wear to them. Unfortunately, what you think is toning is actually discoloration, from some type of liquid coming in contact with it, which may cause it to receive either a DETAILS or DAMAGED label.
Luckily, I didn't purchase the coin. I wanted a second opinion and got just that. Thanks guys. I figured the color was not toning. The wear almost appeared like a weak strike, but it wear nonetheless. Thanks again to the CT peeps!
