I got the following coin as "proof like" (which it *might* be... it looks a lot more mirrored in hand), but there's a hit of corrosion on the reverse at the top. Would that be enough to get it kicked all the way to UNC Details? If yes, does that make it not worth getting graded?
From the pictures the coin looks fine to me I don't see any corrosion. What I do see is something to the left of the date but it may be from the pics because they are a bit grainy. Again it looks fine to me. I do know however they are fairly strict in grading 81&80-s Morgans due to the great quality of strikes.
There is what I see as rub to the left and above the date, but that's not what I was talking about. On the reverse above the right side of the second "T" in "STATES," there is a corrosion spot leading into the denticles.
The 81-S is known for a very strong strike, and it wouldn't be worth submitting unless it would grade MS66 or better. Based on the photos, I don't think it would make it. Chris
