I like it as an AU (presuming it's real, and I have no reason to think it isn't from the photos).

Nice pick up dave......good price too. I'll give it another look later my eyes are shot this time of day...the rev looks very clean no wear I like it ....yes for sure I would of given $300 usd for it. Very little wear and nice eye appeal you scored big time Dave

That's a good price for a 1/4 oz of gold, and if you "trust" the seller, so much the better! :)

    [joke]
Now "thrusting" the seller is another matter entirely... :D

I think you're in pretty good shape, bro !

Just noticed you're from Ireland. I can't wait to visit ! I worked with some very jovial Irish at a pharmaceutical plant in Puerto Rico (long story). Good times. :goofer:

Congrats on the half eagle ! :thumb:

Don't forget... a half eagle has almost a 1/4 oz of gold, so melt value of that coin is ~$250.

That coin is so-called "low gold", meaning almost all it's value is gold bullion value. Normally, there's no need to certify a coin unless it has numismatic value well above face / bullion value.
